Energy monitoring and sub-metering for commercial property, factories and facilities: smart meters connected to a central platform for consumption, demand, tenant recovery and abnormal-usage alerts.
Energy monitoring is the continuous measurement of electricity use with smart meters and sub-meters, collected into a central platform that shows consumption (kWh), demand (kW and kVA), power factor and cost per building, tenant, floor or machine. Typically recorded at 15- or 30-minute intervals, the data is used for tenant cost recovery, tariff and demand management, detecting abnormal consumption and verifying the savings from solar or efficiency projects.

Meters are read over Modbus (RS-485 or TCP) or pulse outputs by a gateway that timestamps and buffers every interval.
Readings are checked for gaps, rollovers and meter faults so reports and tenant recoveries can be trusted.
Dashboards, monthly reports and alerts for after-hours usage, demand peaks or meters that stop reporting.
Additional meters are installed on circuits downstream of the main utility meter — per tenant, floor or machine — and read automatically, so usage can be allocated and compared. See how sub-metering works.
Often, yes. Many installed meters have a Modbus port or pulse output that simply was never connected. We check before recommending replacements.
Commonly every 15 or 30 minutes for billing and reporting, with live values available more often for dashboards. See understanding 30-minute interval data.
